The Vinton County Sheriff's Office has released a statement regarding the recent arrest of a McArthur man for a number of drug-related charges.
According to the Sheriff's Office Facebook page, a report was received on Thursday, May 4 by the Vinton County Sheriff's Office of a male subject in the backyard of a North Market Street residence, undressing. Sgt. Ryan Cain and Deputy Michelle Thomas responded and spoke with a female subject who was there to check the residence.
Both Sgt. Cain and Deputy Thomas checked the residence and found no one inside. While checking the backyard area, the officers found a male subject, Buddy Wright III, 26 of McArthur, in a fetal position in some weeds and small trees. Wright was ordered to show his hands, which he allegedly kept trying to stick in his pockets.
After Wright managed to get both hands up, it is reported that Deputy Thomas noticed a needle lying near Wright's feet, which she witnessed him drop. Sgt Cain asked Wright if he had anything else on his person, and according to the Facebook post, Wright admitted to having both Adderall and Suboxone.
Wright was arrested and taken to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail and charged with Possession Of Drugs, Tampering With Evidence, Tampering With Drugs, and Possession Of Drug Abuse Instruments.
