8/6/2017 7:00:00 AM Letter: JAFE golf outing a big success
To The Editor:
The Jackson Area Festivals & Events (JAFE) held a golf outing on July 29, 2017, that raised money for local charities and the Jackson Apple Festival. JAFE would like to thank everyone who participated in the tournament and also announce the big winners of the golf outing: The team of Mike Hill, James Butler, Jason Goodwill, and Brandon Evans; congratulations, guys.
JAFE would like to thank the corporate sponsors for the event, Bellisio Foods & Iron City Pipe. There were also many hole sponsors that contributed to the event along with some donations of food and prizes. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event very successful for JAFE.
A Golf Ball Drop was also held that day after the tournament and the big winner of $1,000 was Tori Leonard; way to go, Tori. A big thank you goes out to Milton Bank, B.E. Davis Trucking, Sheward-Fulks Insurance, U-Store-It and Jason Gillum Insurance, for donating the prizes for the Golf Ball Drop. The chairman of the event, George Davis, added that he was very pleased with how the event went this year. He wanted to thank his committee for all the help and the JAFE organization for the help in selling tickets for the Golf Ball Drop.
Most of all, Mr. Davis wished to thank the sponsors and anyone who participated by playing in the scramble or buying a ticket. "Without all these great businesses and caring people of Jackson, none of this would be possible, and I can't thank everyone enough for helping JAFE continue to support local charities and bring new and wonderful events to Jackson County," he said.
